The Cartier Tortue (“Tortoise”) was first created in 1912, making it one of the maison’s earliest wristwatch designs. Its distinctive tonneau shape, defined by softly curved lines, set it apart from the more rigid geometry of the Tank and Santos. This reference belongs to the Collection Privée Cartier Paris (CPCP) – a revival line produced from 1998 to 2008, dedicated to reissuing Cartier’s most historically significant models with mechanical movements, guilloché dials, and precious metal cases.
A Cartier Tortue CPCP in 18k yellow gold with a white guilloché dial, Roman numerals, and blued steel hands. The tonneau case measures 34 x 43mm and houses the manual-wind Calibre 430MC. Exhibition caseback allows a clear view of the movement. Recently serviced by Cartier in 2019 and running well. Small chip on the glass, otherwise in good condition.
